chapter website! If you are a guest visiting the site
for the first time, we invite you to join our
association. As a guest or a chapter member, you can
learn about our programs, register for upcoming meetings
and special events, and meet our chapter members and
officers.

With the
election of new board officers in December 2006, I was honored
to be elected President of Chicago BTA for the term 2007-2008.
I bring four years of experience to the office having served on
the board as Secretary in 2003-2004 and as First Vice President
in 2005-2006. I have also served on the Membership Committee
for many years and have greatly enjoyed being able to
participate in planning the Direct Member Roundtables that the
Membership Committee, under the Leadership of MaryAnn Rodriguez,
hosts 2-3 times each year for our Direct members.
Chicago BTA will be 37 years old in 2007 and
continues to be a strong, active chapter of our parent
organization, the National Business Travel Association. I look
forward with enthusiasm to working with the leaders of NBTA to
continue the work that has been done by my predecessor, Guy
Parker, who now serves as Chairman. Both Guy and I deeply care
about Chicago BTA and are committed to working hard to keep the
chapter moving forward, to building our membership and to
delivering quality educational programs to our membership.
One of my goals as President is to encourage all
members of Chicago BTA to become involved in a committee. I
recognize how difficult it is to carve time out of busy lives to
volunteer, but I'm confident that if you do get involved on a
committee that you will find the experience most rewarding.
There are so many talented, committed volunteers on the various
committees of Chicago BTA, but I know the committee chairs will
welcome new volunteers and new ideas to grow the association and
enhance current programs.
